Ray - Evening Support Specialist

My journey to health care started in a different direction than others. I went to college for Marketing, Management, and Sales in Watertown and worked in retail settings. I loved working with people, but felt I could use my abilities in a better way. I went back to college in Wahpeton, North Dakota

for Occupational Therapy Assistant and worked in a group home which I really enjoyed. When I graduated, I continued my education at USD in Vermillion for Health Care Administration and worked in a long-term care facility as a CNA and Medication Aid.

After seven years of college, I took a break and went back to working in retail, moved five times over seven years for the same company, and became a store manager for them in Indiana. I still felt that I was not in the right field and felt an absence in my life that I was not fulfilling. I decided to leave retail and taught myself how to trade on the stock market which I still enjoy doing to this day, but I wanted still felt a longing to help others. I started as a caregiver with Kore Cares in November of 2023 and found what I had been missing. From the moment I walked into the office, I could feel the warmth and caring atmosphere and wanted to be a part of it. I have always been a person that strives for more in life and the opportunity to move into the office as a Support Specialist came available. Now I can help not only our clients but also all of our amazing caregivers!
