How Kore Cares Can Help During The Holiday Season
The holiday season is here and in full force. Many families already dealt with Thanksgiving during a pandemic and have an idea of what their Christmas will look like as well. Some are gathering, some are postponing gatherings until later into 2021 hoping for a virtually corona-free world. Whether or not your family has chosen to get together, you may have concerns about at-risk loved ones who are living alone or are living somewhere where visitors aren’t allowed. Let us help you!
Check-ins/Wellness Checks
Normally, we see an increase in calls from concerned family members after a holiday visit that has shown them their loved one is having more difficulties carrying out daily functions than the last time they were home. With many families keeping more distance from at-risk family members, this could be missed this year. If you have a worry or concern, give us a call. We will go out and make a complimentary home visit and assess your loved ones needs. From there we can either:
1. Give you peace of mind by letting you know everything is in order and no assistance is needed
2. Or we can recommend an amount of services we think would be appropriate and give a list of the tasks we think are needed most.
If services are started, we can give family members access to all care logs and schedules so you know who’s coming, when they’re coming, and what they’re doing. As time goes on, we can easily increase, decrease, or keep services the same based on previous visits.
Companionship
With limited access to others, many people have felt more down this year than others. Our caregivers can be there for your loved ones to play games, prepare meals, or just talk and get to know them. Let us be there and bring you comfort in knowing your loved one is being cared for.
While there, our caregivers are happy to assist with helping with video calls and phone calls to family members as well.
Access to Facilities
Many nursing homes, assisted livings, independent livings, etc. are either limiting or completely revoking family access to their buildings in order to lessen the risk of a COVID-19 exposure. As an essential employee, a caregiver can enter these buildings and assist with tasks family is normally doing. *Kore Cares caregivers work in accordance with all CDC guidelines and have access to PPE. If you, your loved one, or the building has certain requirements (other than a facemask) needed to enter and assist, we are happy to comply*
If you feel we can be of assistant to you or a loved one give us a call at 605-275-2344.
