How We Take Care of Our Caregivers so They Can Take Care of You

At Kore Cares, we have always spent a great amount of time and resources making sure we are providing our caregivers with the tools they need to be successful in their jobs. This is of upmost importance as they are our frontline staff and the reason, we are able to successfully care for our clients. Doing what we can to ensure our staff is getting what they need to be successful at Kore Cares leads us to retaining great staff and growing our team so we can continue to serve more and more people in need. Here are a few ways we are doing this.

Screening and Supervision

For every new hire, there is a motor vehicle record check and background check conducted to screen for past criminal history and reckless driving patterns as driving is a major part of the job. After they begin their job, most employees are observed at a shift every 90 days and then brought into the office for a review. In the reviews, we go over various categories of performance and they are rewarded on  the categories they exceed in.

Benefits

One of the benefits our caregivers enjoy the most is our bonus program. We also offer options for health insurance, retirement, PTO and various other benefits including dental, vision, etc.

Communication

At Kore Cares, we make sure our caregivers know we have an open-door policy when it comes to any and all feedback they may have. We regularly communicate with most caregivers due to questions, changes in schedules, client care information, etc. We have learned that appreciation goes a long way in keeping morale high. We take this seriously and go out of our way to offer various forms of praise and gratitude. We send birthday cards, Christmas cards, newsletters, and emails with pertinent information, compliments and thank yous and weekly schedule details.

On-Site Support

We provide introductions at shifts which includes introducing the clients to caregivers they haven’t met yet, showing the caregiver around, and offering tips and guidance about what duties will be completed during the shift. If the cares of a client are more advance, we send caregivers to train with a co-worker until they’re comfortable working it alone.

COVID-19

We have been following CDC guidelines and monitoring symptoms from caregivers during this time. Our staff is equipped with face masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer, and has been instructed to follow all hygiene recommendations from the CDC. The software we use also asks caregivers a series of questions (temperature, recent travel, symptoms, etc.) and alerts the office and requires an immediate follow-up if any of these are reported by the caregiver.
