Tonya is our newest member in the Kore Cares office! She first started working for Kore Cares as a caregiver in 2017 after her twins were born filling in on overnights and weekends. She came back full time as the Caregiver Support Specialist (CGSS) in December.  As our CGSS, Tonya’s main duties include training caregivers with clients and doing introductions with caregivers when they’re at a new client for the first time. Tonya holds a crucial role in a caregiver’s career, making sure they feel comfortable with their clients and confident in providing their cares. She also maintains frequent communication with clients by making sure to communicate their weekly schedules and regular “Client Experience Visits” to see how their services are going. Tonya has an extensive background in health care, read below to learn more about the experiences that led her to Kore Cares!

Tonya started as a CNA in 2006 after her high school graduation and felt like health care was the perfect career path for her.  Throughout the years, she has worked in a number of skilled nursing facilities around South Dakota, Nebraska and Minnesota, giving her experience in a variety of environments. She later advanced in her career by receiving her Medication Aide certification. Tonya has many years of experience in health care, working across the continuum of care from long term care and assisted living, to the hospital setting, to hospice and home health. Her past experience in all types of situations help her to put herself in a caregiver’s shoes when introducing them to new situations. We’re grateful to have her on our team!
