Team Support During a Worldwide Pandemic

Regardless of the industry, every business has had to find ways to adjust, restructure, and innovate new ways to offer their services during COVID-19. Healthcare has undoubtedly been an industry whose employees have been challenged to go above and beyond to ensure the health and safety of everyone around them.

In home care helps to care for adults who need assistance to remain in their homes. This is usually the elderly population or those who have a disability. Because this group of people were the most at-risk for contracting the coronavirus, many family members weren’t able to be there to provide the support they were doing pre-COVID. This made caregivers even more vital than they were before as they were now taking on more roles in clients lives than ever before.

Throughout the last year, our caregivers have adjusted to new safety measures, worked longer hours to ensure clients were cared for while other employees were out, etc. We’ve been working throughout COVID-19 to keep our team up to date and appreciated. Here are a few tactics we’ve employed:

Frequent Updates

We have sent out newsletters and regular emails with updates on new CDC regulations, prevention methods, vaccination sign up and other related information.

Pre-Shift Screening

Caregivers have been asked to contact us if they’re experiencing any COVID related symptoms. In addition, Clear Care, the software they use for clocking-in and out of shifts and charting, provides screening questions before allowing them to clock-in for the day. They also answer similar screening questions for their client before clocking out.

COVID-Related Bonuses

As a thank you for their hard work and ensuring our clients are as safe and healthy as possible, employees have received COVID-specific bonuses in addition to their regular quarterly bonuses.

Vaccinations

Kore Cares employees have been given the option to get the COVID vaccination since January, which means a majority of caregivers who wanted to get it, are fully vaccinated at this time.

Supplies

Caregivers were given bags that contain gloves, hand sanitizer, and masks. They are regularly asked if they need any refills of these items. Face shields and other PPE are also available when necessary.

Supplies for Clients

Caregivers are asked to notify the office if they have any clients in need of cleaning supplies that the clients are not able to supply for themselves. These supplies are dropped off at the clients home so caregivers are able to keep their environment as clean as possible.

Our Kore Cares team is very important to us and our philosophy has always been if we take exceptional care of our team, they will take exceptional care of our clients! The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged us as a company but despite the extra huddles and challenges we faced we have grown stronger as a team! If you have any questions regarding our COVID-19 protocols do not hesitate to give us a call at 605-275-2344.
