Kore Cares Care Champion Award Recipients Announced
Kore Cares CEO Gabrielle Hoing sat down with Ashley Thompson at Keloland Living on Friday, February 23 to announce our Care Champion Recipients. We received so many nominations of deserving caregivers and nurses throughout the state of South Dakota. We are touched to know that so many out there are receiving exceptional care from these people every day! Two caregivers and two nurses stood out above the rest and were named this years’ Care Champions. Read below for more information on our winners.
Nurses:
Katherine Williams – Katherine works for Circle of Life Home Care. In her position, she provides structured family caregiving. This includes providing at home caregivers with the training and resources needed to properly care for their loved ones in the home setting. She serves over 20 communities and leaves no one behind. Katherine will travel up to 4 hours to help those in need of her services. We are honored to have heard of Katherine through this process and are touched by the dedication to quality care she represents.
Marty Begeman – Marty is a nurse at Kore Cares. She has been an RN for 37 years. She has a bubbly personality that will brighten anyone’s day and she has a unique ability to put herself in her clients shoes and relate to them in meaningful ways. All who know Marty say she would do anything to help someone in need and we have seen it for ourselves many times. Rain, snow, shine, Marty is there for her clients! The personal touch Marty provides on top of exceptional care is one of a kind!
Caregivers:
Bethany Schlenker – Bethany works for Dakota Caring Companions. She goes above and beyond to put clients first no matter the situation. Bethany makes sure her clients are supported, even if that means visiting them in the hospital instead of the regular at home visits. She is also intuitive, picking up on issues right away and making sure they are resolved as soon as possible. Her nominator called her a wonderful, attentive, and caring caregiver.
Jeanette Biggar – Jeanette is a caregiver at Kore Cares. Her approach to caregiving includes finding creative and meaningful ways to connect with clients and their families like making journals of special moments in a client’s life or picture books that they can sit and reminisce over. She is proactive and seeks out needs and meets them without being asked. Families who have loved ones cared for by Jeanette are always touched by the services she provides and love the comfort of knowing their mother, father, etc. are getting the best care possible.
