Meet Our Summer Intern: Shan

At Kore Cares continuous learning and professional development has always been a priority. Our administration staff is always striving to learn new skills and enhance already present management skills. Recently, Kore Cares CEO Gabrielle Hoing decided to spread her knowledge on business skills by hiring a business administration intern.

Meet Our Summer Intern: Shan

We are happy to announce that we found the perfect candidate, Shan, who is currently studying Business Management with a minor in Medical Humanities. Shan will head into his third year at Augustana University this fall.

Shan found his interest in the business side of health care from his father who currently is the Patient Access Director for the Methodist Health Systems in Omaha NE. Prior to his college career, Shan served as an Administrative Volunteer at the age of 13 at CHI-Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, as well as Nebraska Methodist in Omaha. He then transitioned into a greeter/COVID-19 screener at the age of 17 at Methodist Health Systems in Omaha. When asked why Shan had an interest in Kore Cares and the business side of healthcare he said “I came to the field because I always had an interest in leading/managing and being in a job where I was not bound to a desk doing stagnant work, but rather to a field that was always growing and changing, as well as overall the healthcare landscape. I knew I did not want to be a doctor, but I loved working in a hospital and being around other healthcare experts, so with all those factors I knew the business side of healthcare was my calling!”.
