Caregiver Job Description

 

As a Caregiver with Kore Cares, your role is integral in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to clients. This involves assisting elderly individuals or those with disabilities with various daily living activities, including housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and providing companionship. Your responsibilities extend to transportation for medical appointments or other essential errands, as well as addressing personal care needs such as bathing and grooming. By fulfilling these duties, you contribute to creating a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for clients in their homes or care facilities, enhancing their overall well-being and quality of life.

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Living out our values of excellence, reliability, making a difference, and a growth mindset

  • Assist clients in living their best life in the place they call home

  • Assist with personal cares such as bathing, toileting, dressing and personal hygiene 

  • Assist with ambulation and transfer of clients with or without adaptive equipment

  • Remind clients to take medications

  • Complete light housekeeping such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning dishes and taking out trash

  • Plan and prepare meals, assist with feeding and assist with kitchen clean up

  • Provide socialization and companionship

  • Prepare and maintain records of client condition and services performed, reporting changes in client condition to the agency office team

  • Transportation client to locations outside the home such as physicians’ offices or on outings, using a motor vehicle

  • Run errands for client such as getting groceries or household shopping

  • All other duties outlined in client care plan

  • Works harmoniously with team to achieve Kore Cares goals and mission, fulfills our vision and uphold the Kore Cares values

education and experience:

  • Patient or client care experience preferred but not required

required skills and abilities:

  • Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position

  • Must be able to read, write, understand and speak English

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Must have reliable transportation and current valid driver’s license

  • Proof of automobile insurance and eligibility for employment in the United States

physical demands:

  • Walking, sitting, bending and standing with lifting up to 50 pounds at times
