How Home Care Partners with Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy Month 2021.png

October is Physical Therapy Month, which highlights the work physical therapists do to improve lives across the world! As a home care agency that cares primarily for elderly and adults who have a range of disabilities, we have had many opportunities to work with physical therapists to care for our clients while they work with PT to get strength back after an injury, surgery, etc.

Physical therapy can be done in facilities or in the home. Often, when someone is requiring physical therapy, they are needing other assistance in the home and may also be using home care. Many clients are given exercises to do daily to help regain their strength. Our caregivers are happy to follow along in the exercises with those they are caring for to make sure these are completed daily. We can work around physical therapy schedules to make sure clients are able to give both PT and caregiving their full attention.

We often have clients receive PT in a facility after falls, surgeries, etc. During this time, we are able to communicate a plan for a safe return home with these facilities. We are so thankful for the care our clients receive while they are gone. The work their physical therapists do to get their strength back so they can continue living independently in their homes is greatly appreciated by Kore Cares and the loved ones of our clients.

Make sure to thank a physical therapist this month!
